Below is a list of community organizations that take pride in helping others:
  1. Ada Homeless Services: Offers homeless prevention services, rapid re-housing, and help with utilities. For utility assistance, the cut-off must be "triggering an eviction." Required documents for assistance: utility cut-off, lease stating tenant is responsible for utilities, and the landlord notice of pending eviction due to utility cut-off. 317 W 12th St, Ada, OK 74820. 580-272-0211

  2. Abba's Tables: Free Evening meal program Monday-Friday 5:30 - 6:30 pm 113 S Johnston Ave, Ada. Closes at 7:00pm. No questions asked. 580-279-6886 leave a message if no answer.

  3. Asbury United Methodist Church: Food distribution on the 1st & 3rd Thursdays of the month from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm. 508 W 6th St, Ada, OK 74820. 580-332-5266

  4. Covenant Cumberland Presbyterian Church: Food distribution on the Monday following the 3rd Wednesday of the month, 9:00 - 11:00 am. 15791 St. Hwy. 1W, Ada, OK 74820. (580) 332-3651

  5. Morris Memorial Baptist Church: Food distribution on the 2nd Monday of the month, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm (next door to Latta School) 16121 CR 3540, Ada, OK. (580) 332-4352

  6. Yellow House SW Church of Christ: Food Pantry on Monday following the 3rd Wednesday of the month, 8:00 - 10:00 am. 505 W. 17th St., Ada, OK. (580) 332-3430

  7. Compassion Outreach Center: Twice a month clinic for those lacking access to medical services in need of chronic care. Services for those qualified: medical, dental, and vision. Must make an appointment to be seen. The clothing closet is available on Wednesdays. Drug and Mental Health screenings and an RX program are available thru RX Oklahoma. 580-310-1021

  12. KI BOIS Supportive Services for Veteran Families: Provides homeless prevention services. To qualify there must be a member of the household that served in the military, the family income must be below 50% AMI (based on last 30 days and varies by county and average) and be at risk of becoming homeless. 580-436-9015

  13. Legal Aid Services of Oklahoma, Inc: Provides free legal help for low-income persons and senior citizens with civil legal problems. Find out if you're eligible: 1-888-534-5243.

  14. Mama T's: Provides meals, shelter, and services to the homeless and hungry. 222 E 12th St, Ada, OK 74820. 580-279-1671

  15. St. Luke's Episcopal Church: Monthly food distribution is given away on the 3rd Thursday of the month. Appointment is required along with proof of ID and residence. 110 E 17th St, Ada, OK 74820. 580-332-6429

  16. St. Vincent de Paul: Help with rental deposits and utility deposits. 580-967-1281

  17. The Salvation Army: Seen by appointment only. Requirements: photo ID for all adults in the home, proof of all income in the home, proof of all monthly expenses, statement of circumstances from a 3rd party. They provide utility (no deposits), clothing, and RX assistance along with emergency grocery cards. 305 E Main St, Ada, OK 74820. 580-559-2669

  18. Big Five Community Services: Offers senior outreach, chore, homemaker, family caregiver services, Tai Chi and senior medical transportation to medical appointments. These services are for those 60+ years of age. Rx for Oklahoma is also prescription assistance that offers low or no-cost prescriptions. Headstart classes for 3-4 year olds. 580-924-5331

  19. Family Crisis Center: Helps domestic violence victims, victims of sexual assault, and stalking situations. They can provide emergency shelter for women and children fleeing domestic violence. A 24-hour hotline is available at 580-436-3504 and the office can be contacted at 580-436-6648.

  20. Unity Point Counselling & Resource Center: Emergency Youth Shelter only. Mental health & substance abuse counseling; kids, adolescents, and adults; family and individual therapy; anger management; behavior management and parenting. 580-436-6130

  21. Pontotoc Co Literacy Coalition: A non-profit providing free tutoring services to adults in areas of learning to read, improve reading skills, math, & high school equivalency test prep. They offer free web-based distance learning for those who are unable to come in person for tutoring. 580-436-5443 124 S Rennie, Ada, OK 74820

  22. Volunteers of America (Payee Services): VOA Oklahoma is an Organizational Representative Payee through the Social Security Administration (SSA) providing money management assistance to individuals who are unable to manage their Social Security or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits. SSA pays individuals through representative payees who receive and manage payments on behalf of the beneficiaries.   23. House of Hope Pregnancy Center: Provides classes, support, resources, and counseling to new parents. Pregnancy can be the most exciting time in your life, or the scariest…especially in an unplanned pregnancy. 580-332-4199 509 E 12th St, Ada, OK 74820

  24. Oklahoma Works-American Job Center: Provides free access to computers and printers, carrier guidance, counseling, and planning. Job search, referrals, and placement assistance.   25.   26. OSU Extension-Community Nutrition Education Programs: Provides free Teen Cuisine and Fresh Start programs. The Teen Cuisine is for teens in grades 6-12 where they learn food safety, nutrition, food prep, and physical activity. The Fresh Start program is for adults 18 and older.   28. Ada Adult Learning Center: Adult education classes for 16+, one-to-one tutoring for reading, math, language arts, science, and social studies, and a clothes closet for their participants.

  29. Ada Goodwill Employment Center: Free job preparedness services which include: resume & cover letter development, career interest & skills assessment, basic computer skills class, career fairs, job search assistance, and more.
